Is the Range frame heavy duty enough for this truck?
Does the Sport Track have a problem with rust? A auto body man told me this was something he thought to be true.
Thank you

my understanding is that tha s/t is on a modified ranger frame already. I could be wrong. are you in need of a new frame?

The frame is the first thing to start rusting, but it's thick.

The SportTrac is on a longer version of the new Explorer frame. Fully boxed. It is probably wider then the ranger frame too.

All frames will eventually rust, it usually starts at the weld points first. I have found WD-40 will slow the rust, especially if the frame is not already coated with a rust proofing. I believe it would be normal to see a few spots starting on an 07, especially if it was driven in the salt.

No idea on a 07.
Ford has stated the 08 was a slightly narrowed frame to that of a f150.

They do have 4 door Rangers, no idea if it is just a longer frame than a extended cab.

07+ frames are on the Explorer Chassis and extended by 13" in the rear to accomadate the bed and the spare tire underneath. 05' and prior are on the Ranger frame. This question should not be in this forum if it is reguarding the latter.
