Squeak coming from left front in 4wd

I have this squeak when the hubs are locked (auto hubs still too cold to put the warns on). Its actually the same sound a loose accessory belt makes. It only makes the noise when the hubs are locked and it's totally quiet in 2wd. It's going to drive me insane so before i start throwing parts at it give me an idea of where i should start

Sounds like you need to clean the autohubs.

Putting on my manual hubs will stop the squeak then? If so i'll put up with it for a few days until i have a chance to get them on.

Installing Manual hubs is very easy and should only take an hour max. After installing them if the noise is still present I would look into the U-joints as the next likely cause.

Rotational noises involved with 4x4 can be:

• Hubs
• U-joints
• Spindle bearing
• Axle seals

How old are the u-joints? As they age the seal gets harder and begins to let the lube out and moisture in. This causes the needle bearings to rust and wear out.

I have no idea how old the u-joints are, i had the axle out last year when i did the ball joints and wheel bearings and the left side was a little stiffer than the right but not bad at all. I could be bad now though.
