The vehicle was at an idle and it died. My sister was driving it and thought it had run out of gas. We put 2.5 gal in it and tried to start it. It sounds like it does not have fuel. It is turning over fine, it actually starts, then stalls right away.
When I opened the hood last night, in the dark, I could see and feel what I thought was oil all over the components that are right in front of the driver, the relay/fuse box was all oily, the power steering pump thingie that holds the liquid actually had a puddle on top of the cap.
I didn't have a flash light so I left the truck there and went back today.
Checked the oil, it was a little low, added some. It looks like power steering fluid all over, not oil like I thought it was las night.
I thought it could be fuel filter, or pump.. dirt in the injectors if she ran out of fuel.. there is good pressure at the little valve on top of the motor, gas spurts out of it. If there is fuel there, could it be any of the other fuel related possibilities?
Checked for spark at the spark plug wires, there is spark there.
Not sure what to do now, I checked the relays, fuses, but fuel is getting to the motor, or at least to that little bleeder thingie.
Any suggestions on anything I can check myself with a little common sense, would be very much appreciated.
Thanks.
