I have 94 X that stalls whenever I press and let off the accelerator quickly. Kind of what you would do when backing out of a parking spot or when you think you may cross an intersection but change your mind at the last minute. It will stall everytime with the A/C running. With the A/C not running, the engine studders a little but it doesn't stall. I have cleaned my IAC valve but that hasn't made any difference. I'm not getting a CEL light. My fuel pump does have a fairly loud whine to it, but I'm not sure if it's an abnormal noise, plus I thought when the fuel pump starts to go bad it's either all or nothing. I have also changed the fuel filter. Any ideas of things to check would be appreciated.

Thanks

Nathan

npearman,
try this: unplug the IAC valve then try to start it. If you can't keep it running with out useing the accellerator then you need to adjust the idle to 675rpm. Then shut it down, disconnect the battery, reconnect the IAC & Battery and fire it up.

Have you cleaned the throttle body lately.

I used to use this symptom to tell me when to clean the TB- I now just clean it every 10k when I change my oil.

Good Luck

SteveVB,

I can't keep the truck running long enough to clean the throttle body. If I disconnect the intake hose from the TB, the truck is really hard to start and won't idle at all. Is this normal?
