Left turns no problems.

Right turns --> stalls.

This has me baffled anybody ever encounter this?

I checked all the obvious- frayed wires, vacuum hoses...

Any ideas?

My 92 would start to stall on high speed right exit turns. Every day, the same place going home from work. It turned out to be a worn fuel pressure regulator that would stick open from the centrifical force. Of course it also had some other ptoblems too like sometimes stalling at long stop lights. Any other condition information you can tell us?

That's pretty much it, runs great- except for those right turns. If you go very slow it's fine turn fast it stalls.

Where the fuel pressure regulator? Can you describe it, it's worth a look.

Pressure regulator is on the passenger side above the valve cover. Follow the braded return fuel line to it. Teo screws and about $80, but I wouldn't replace it willie nilly. I pulled my pump fuse and stuck in wire connectors. These wires were brought into the cab and I monitored current on a 10A meter. Current is 4-5A and roughly proportional to current. Should vary less than 1A over various driving conditions. If it changes a lot then you will at least know something is wrong in the fuel system (either electrically or mechanically). I would also pull the fuel pump and ECM relay and look for any corrosion on the contacts. These are under the fuses, a pretty idiotic place to put them. Sounds more like an electrical problem. Would also pull and reinsert the electrical connector near the tank.

Will do, funny my girl went out and started it this morning- pulled it up about 10 feet, shut it down, loaded her ski gear, got in to start it and- dead as a door nail. :)

It just cranks, I haven't had time to get out there and check, but tomorrow night I will. Needless to say they took her friends car.

She had to push it back into a parking space... :p I was long gone, had to work. Boy am I glad I wasn't there to hear that rant...I only caught a minute of it on the phone. :D

Here's the latest on this issue...

Truck completely died, it'll crank, but won't start.

I jacked it up in the left rear corner and it starts, let it down and after a minute it stalls. Crank it and it doesn't start, jack it up and it starts.

There's a little under a half tank of gas in it, these things don't have a floating pickup in the tank do they??

The 93 has a skid pan covering the tank so it's a PITA to get at anything...boy I'm glad mines a 01' everything exposed and I don't have to jack it up to get under! :D

I'm tempted to drop 5 gallons in it and see what happens.

You sure the gage isn't stuck on 1/2 and your actually on empty?

I coulda swore I put gas in it a coupla days ago (because I knew she was going to Vermont), but bouncing back and forth between mine and hers...who knows. I'm positive there's gas in it, I usually keep anything I'm driving above a half tank.

does it crank smoothly like there is no fuel in the line or sparaticlly like it gets little burts and try to run. If it runs sparaticlly hold down the pedal while cranking and that should turn off the injectors, keep cranking till it smooths out. Turn key over about 4-5 times with a 10 second delay each time so it builds up pressure (presuming the tank is not empty). Spray about a 1-2 second burst of starter fluid into the intake and then try it again.
Have a problem sorta like that myself, cept mine is that i have i pin hole leak and it sucks up air stalling the engine at lights and starts

Thanks everyone, but I took my truck to have 4.56s and ARB dropped in the rear, went over there with her truck, it seemed to want to run yesterday, after coaxing it by jacking it up.

Got to the shop no problem, but went to run out to the store and it'd only start when it was on the jack.

I left it for them to check out, they're going to check the inertia switch and sender to see if there are any cracks or anything.

I'll let you all know the final result...
