I've done a search & couldn't find much in this model range, 2000, so I'll start a new thread. My starter (I think) seems to be causing problems, it started with slow turn-overs occasionally then the odd just clicking once or twice then starting. This was over about a 3 week period but for the last day or two its been happening every 2nd start.
Now it just clicks (very loudly), the battery has as of last night 12.94 volts so no prob there & the terminals are clean as (I spray them with lanolin oil). I have checked all fuses & they're OK but can't find starter relay box as mine is a r/h drive X & those type of things just aren't where the manual says they are.
So now I guess its get underneath & dirty time unless some one can think of something I've missed.
Thanks. :(:(

Great video's but don't really apply to mine as it has a pressed body & it is near impossible to reach the topside of it where the top bolt & solenoid is & being R/H/ drive things are in different places.
Is the front diff on the same side of motor over there, in L/H drives?

Driveshaft is on the left side.

So it IS just as difficult to get too then, thanks for that I was beginning to think it was just us R/H/D mob LOL.
I found the battery lead nut was umm less than finger tight. So I'm presuming if I tighten it everything should be fine, one prob though, how the hell do get in there to tighten it up!!!
I can get a 13mm socket on it easy enough but no room to turn a spanner or ratchet. I was thinking of getting a long extension bar & going over the top of the cross-member, is this feasible?
Thanks anyone

Don't have an answer to your question about getting wrenches into the spot.... but you are probably right about the problem being associated with the "less than tight" connection. However, be careful on how tight you tighten the nut because you can cause the terminal bolt to turn internally which will cause you grief.

Yeah Ha got it done & am mobile again, I walked about 4klms (return) & bought what I mentioned earlier PLUS a stubby flexible ratchet handle. Low & behold the little flex handle was all I needed as I could turn it up above the the front diff.
Now all I have to do is not bump my left wrist hard because of all the bruises right on the bone area. Ah well that's cool as I'm learning things about the X every day just about. :D
