for upper shock mounts on the front just use the pre92 F250 leaf sprung TTB ones... they let you squeeze in a 13" travel shock easy.

Won't leaf springs be harder to install for the front?

Yes it would be but i beleive he's refering to shock mounts not the leaf mounts, they are two seperate pieces ;).

I'm doing a very similar swap on mine :)

So what would be the difference between the 78 bronco shock mounts from broncograveyard and the pre 92's shock mounts?

Also, do the shock mounts also have to be spaced out 2" like the coil buckets?

the shock mounting bolts on the stock radius arms are 90* out of phase with the shock tower bolts. if you bolt the shock tower to the frame without modifing it you will put you shocks in a bind

are you talking about the stock bronco RA's? and they are 90 degrees out of phase with the shock towers off of broncograveyard?

you can find f250 mounts in the junk yard pretty cheap :)
I've found that Ford Parts Network (site sponsor @ the top of the page) sells the F250 shock towers for $10.04 each. IIRC, the shipping was not a whole lot. I am planning on buying these soon.

So those shock mounts off the f250 would be the way to go? And they don't need to be spaced out like the coil buckets?

Speaking of which, are these buckets from broncograveyard good for the sas?

I plan to buy those buckets for my swap. Trckmagik used them on his FW swap he just finished and spaced them out 2" or so. Many other people use the coil buckets off the truck and those are the same things, but new. So yes they'd be good for the swap if you space them out. :)

Isn't there a bucket off some truck that didn't require you to space out? I forgot which one it was?

Yes, the 70-73 F100 2wd buckets were like that. I almost got some off, but then when I was going back for the last time(they were really close to being completely off), my parents said if I'd quit wasting my time trying to get those off (there are about 5 rivets plus 1 bolt per bucket  ) they would pay the cost for new coil buckets and spacing them out, etc. :D

yes the bolts are out of phase, which is fine if you shock is vertical. but if you don't space out the shock towers then the shock will lean in towards the engine and bind the shock.

OK, so the coil buckets in the pic above along with the f250 shock mounts and spacing both of them 2" out would be ideal for the SAS, right?

u wont need to space the shock mounts out... they come with a nice bend in em allready.... these suckers are TALL... if not for my 3" body lift i would of had to cut a chunk outta my fender liner... a 13" travel monroe gas magnum fits nice in there tho :D

What are these brackets off of and where can I get them??

Hotwheels-are you full width or did your axle come from like a EB?

Subscribing, also you may want to PM Trckmagik as he has already done all the research and is darn near close to done with his.

I believe that Hotweels is full width, but I'm not sure. Also, I'm not sure if this will have much effect on the angle of them(I still don't have my d44 to see if it would :(), but the placement of the radius arms might change the binding the shock would have.
