Probably a good call on just regearing. Unless you can do it yourself a SAS is a major committment any way you slice it. (Thought a little less, easier and more forgiving if you go with leaf springs than coils or coilovers, etc.)
If all you want is a trail-rig that won't see road time, then maybe the local guy with the built jeep can do it. However, in terms of your own safety and the overall value of your rig >> don't trust just anybody or decide solely based upon the lowest bidder! It's one thing to do a SOA or install an off-the-shelf lift kit. Quite another to completely redesign and rebuild a front suspension system so that it's safe and reliable even on-road and at highway speed.
