1991 Explorer sport
I just picked up a 91 explorer sport. I seems to run good, but every once in awhile, probably 1 out of 4 times, when i go to start it, there is no power at all. Like the battery is dead. I just bought a new battery, but it still keeps doing it. Any ideas what this could be? When it does it, there will be nothing for a few mins, like the battery is shot, but if i mess with it and turn they key back and forth, it will start right up. Any help would be great, thanks

check your cables and battery connections. also have the starter tested.

Ill try that tomorrow. Ive also noticed that my battery volt gauge jumps around a lot from time to time

clean the bettery cables, and terminal posts, and apply di electric grease to them.
then have the started and alternator tested just to be safe.

Sometimes mine just clicks at the solenoid on the inner fender because the trigger wire on the starter is corroded.
