I have a 92 XLT and it wont start. When I turn the key you can hear the starter turning (makes a whirrrrrr noise) but thats it, the engine doesn't crank or nothing. I pulled the starter out and took it in to a shop, they tested it and said it was fine. Any ideas what could be wrong? Any ideas or past experiences would be helpful. Thanks

First guess would be a problem with the starter drive - sounds like the over-running clutched is hooped. When you had the starter out, you did look at the teeth on the ring gear, yes?

Do you hear the Fuel Pump running when you turn the key to "on" before going all the way to start? If not, you might have an electical relay/fuel pump problem. Also, make sure the fuel pump cut of switch hasn't been tripped....
