Everytime i go to start the Ex, it wont start up on the first crank. Usually, i have to crank it over for like 4-5sec, then turn it back to off position, and then crank it over again and it will start up like in 2sec. And this always happens when its cold or sits for a while. I have replaced the schrader valve on the fuel rail which was leaking and thought/hoped the problem would be solved, but its not. The fuel pump does prime with the key on, so its not that, other than perhaps the check valve in the pump is bad, which would be why it seems like i dont have any fuel at start up. That better not be the case however because the pump only has 30k miles on it:mad:. Thanks for the help.

Have you tried leaving the key in the "on" position for 3-5 seconds, then cranking?

How does it run once it's on, and how does it idle?

Sorry forgot to mention that i do let the fuel pump prime for that long and then try to crank it. When it starts its very weak, and if i give it gas it starts to die, rpms go down to like 500, and then once its warm its fine, kinda like the engine is starving for fuel.

You could jumper out the fuel pump relay

A leaking fuel pressure regulator may be causing the pressure to leak down and air bubbles to form. If you jumper out the relay as a test, this will give you full fuel pressure insteas of that 3 second charge. These regulators are high bypass so a small leak doesn't effect an engine when it is running.

Jumpering Fuel pump relay

Question, is there a fuse that you can bypass to cause the fuel pump to run continuous?

The X is new to me but I bought it with the understanding that it has an occasional No Start issue.

If I get this no-start problem I would like to jump the Fuel pump relay to see if The Relay is the culprit or the Pump itself. The problem could be Spark too, Crank sensor or something. I haven't had the problem since I got it but I'm trying to get ny trouble shooting tactics down so I can find it and fix it.

Thanks
