Hey guys,
I got a 96 explorer with a 2 inch TT, add a leaf and shackles in the rear, sitting on 31's. I installed rancho rs 5000s and the front is still way to soft, I bottom out quite a bit. I dont really have a problem with the rear. I was wondering if anybody knew of a cheap, or anyway at all to stiffin the front end up? Thanks...

Are you sure? Most people complain of a stiff ride after a TT. I don't see how you're bottoming out with a 2" TT...

You should not be bottoming out with a 2" TT and RS5000's, which ride rougher then OEM or Monroe Sensa Trac shocks.

Well I use my explorer in the dunes. Its stiffer than stock obviously, but I can still get it to bottom on some hills when I hit them fast. Once I read about something you can buy like at autozone to extend your shocks an inch or two, anybody know what those are? Maybe that will help. I know I get full extension sometimes too.

Stiffer Front End?

Hey guys, I got a 2 inch TT with rancho rs 5000's and my front end is still way too soft. Does that mean my torsion bars are bad or something? I looked at them, one was pretty rusted. I can bottom out pretty easy. I read something about upgrading to a class B torsion bar. Whats that all about? If there is anyway to make my front end stiffer I want to do it. I have to replace the torsion bar adjusters so I figure I mine as well replace the bars anyway if they need to be done. Thanks.

Torsion bars are rated for stiffens B - L I believe, with L being the softest. There's are 1 and 2 which are from the sport tracs. which would be stiffer than a B

So the sport track torsion bars will fit on 4 door explorers? Has anybody done this?
