Look on Yahoo Shopping. What I usually do is goto Crutchfield.com for research, then find the amp I want on Yahoo Shopping for the cheapest price. Max Power ratings don't really mean anything. You should always look RMS rating. A sub cannot handle the max power rating all the time, only during the deepest bass drops. Your RMS for that sub is probably considerably lower than the max power. Just something to think about.

The sub is 800w RMS. You can find an amp for a decent price that'll push it. I'd try eBay.

I found the Rockford Fosgate P8002. It is selling on Yahoo Shopping for right about $415 to your door. It is a $650 amp on Crutchfield.com. You can choose. Here are the specs:

Key Features:

» 200 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms
» 400 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms
» 800 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
» stereo or bridged mono output
» 4-ohm stable in bridged mode
» CEA compliant
» Tri-way capable (Tri-Way Crossover required)
» requires a 4-gauge wiring kit and 150-amp fuse — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
» MOSFET power supplies and output stages
» MEHSA transfers heat efficiently from the MOSFET devices to the heat sink for high performance
» TOPAZ eliminates ground loop noise
» trans-ANA circuitry keeps preamp signal clean
» NOMAD "intelligent" protection circuitry
» variable high-pass/low-pass crossover (40-400 Hz, 12 dB/octave)
» variable Punch Bass boost (0-18 dB at 45 Hz) with wired remote
» 17-5/8"W x 2-1/2"H x 11-5/16"D
» warranty: 1 year

Hope this helps.

I'm not totally familiar with that amp, but are you sure it will be okay with a 3 ohm load? Sure that's the resting impedance, and the load fluctuates with music, but some amps are touchy with their impedance protection.

My suggestion would be a class d,x, or T monoblock amp stable to 2 ohms. For instance the MA Audio HK800D.

As for the slash, slasher thing? I dunno maybe they were trying to sell you a JL audio monoblock, which has a fully regulated design, that will put out essentially the same wattage from 4 to 2 (maybe even 1 ohms)? I think those are called the slash series by some.. but I dont know my JL very well.

im going to go ahead and buy the amp from this place...im sick of waiting...and i know these guys know what they are doing...i odnt wanna run the risk of runining all of what i have done so far. thanks for the help.
