i have hella 500's im trying to install... I did everything hella asked for......i even tryed splicing into all three wires that go into the factory lamps ( one at a time of coarse)....i dont know what else to do i know they are hot wires because when disconnected the ford lamps dont work...What am i missing????.......i just want to make sure i'm right when i say the ground just needs to touch something on the frame of the truck? right or am i wrong in thinking that?....please help i'm so confused

Did you disconnect the battery before installation? Maybe you blew out a fuse!?

Take a look at this diagram.http://catalog.com/susq/other/auxlamps.htm
Your wires should all be in the same places on the top half of the diagram.
On the bottom half is the switch diagram.
You were going to use the hot or powered lead from your factory fogs to connect to the relay in place of a seperate switch.
Its best if you ground at the battery. You also can use the body by screwing the ground wire to metal.
Use a test light to be sure you have a good ground.

thanks to everyones help i figured out the problem....it looks to be that forgot to ground the switch....it was a careless mistake....thats what happens when you rush a job in the hot summer sun....but everything seems to be working now....Thanks again
