Replaced Starter Solenoid....still problems starting!!

understood for sure.

I am telling you right now, one more time, West marine has an excellent selection of stranded wire in all gages and connectors for a good price. You can duplicate any wire you need, especially battery cables at that store for a fraction of the cost of new/custom.

I am a wiring madman :)
When I fill up my current power distribution box (I have a 94 explorer fuse/relay box under the hood, with only about half of the relay spots and 1/5 of the fuse locations filled up) I will add another one. They are an EXCELLENT way to wire in accessories and fuses, cheap at the junk yard and easy to work on. I made mine removeable in about 5 minutes, using factory style male/female plugs.

My electric fan, ARB compressor, fog lights, and other accessories are all wired though this box, it does not get any more factory then that......in fact factory leaves much to be desired IMO.

:)

Check out these 95 Crown Vic pictures. I made a lot of changes to build it into a mail vehicle. Which is the factory power distribution box? Please ignore the battery corrosion. I never got around to changing the battery cable, and the original battery continously put out excess acid, and it started rust on several things.

Here is an inside picture of the PD boxes:

It took two PD boxes to build the one, plus an old fuse panel flasher receptacle.

Ok thats fixed... now next issue!

Sunday I took out the starter and had it tested. It was pulling way to many amps (like 120 or so). So I replaced it, but I was having power problems also (every couple of times I would try to start it all the electricy would go out) So i cleaned and replaced both battery cables and terminals. Now she starts up great and everything powers up fine. So while I was working l thought i do an oil change...when i noticed that the A/C compresser was starting to stick. So I got some oil to put in and while the oil was going in....BOOM!!... compresser blew up...sprayed green stuff everywhere...so I cut off the engine and let it sit, now every once in a while..the compresser makes a load pressure releasing sound. I think its time for a new one but i wanted to see if there was any other fix then dropping $200 on a new compresser....any ideas?

Nice, so you added the second power box? I know nothing about Crown Vics, but I do know newer Fords have more then 1 box under the hood.

Sorry I cant help witht eh AC issues other then why did you add oil?

Unfortunately the AC compressor is a part that either works perfectly, or you replace it. You might try to buy just a used compressor, depending on the vehicles' value, and how long you will keep it.

If you could pick up my 93 AC system, I'd sell the intact system to you, for $150. I will be disassembling the truck, and the AC works fine. I have the 1999 complete AC, intact on my floor, ready to go back in. Good luck,
