I have a 2001 Explorer Sport Trac with the stock radio system installed. The truck was being stored for a few months and the battery ran down. In order to get it started the battery was placed on a charger for a couple of hours. It started fine but now the radio will not turn on.

Is this a common problem and is there any reset procedure to get the radio working?

thanks in advance.

The first thing would be to check the fuse. If that's fine then I know of some radios that have a security feature built in. I had an old Jensen that if disconected or if my battery went dead I had to enter a security code for it to turn on. If that is the case then you might have to take it back to the ford dealer. Other then that you could this install a new head unit.
