Heard tale yesterday that I had an amp stuck in the side of my X . . . Don't want to sound like an idiot, but is this true? Also, if it is, what exactly is it? Just a stock no-name amp, or something decent?

the stock amp isnt in all explorers, but if youve got one its under the rear passenger side panel, right above the wheel well. Its nothing good/worth keeping. If you plan on buying an aftermarket amp, the amp you buy will be MUCH better.

that amp its not even worth keeping as TeamPwgeBrad stated. take it out and run it over with ur x, trust me it will make u feel much better!

its a ford brand amp... without it, your stock stereo wont work... with an aftermarket head unit, it should be bypassed and removed, as the sound from the aftermarket head will be a lot more power and better sound quality
