Has anyone taken off the stock hitch and installed a new class 3 one? I just installed mine and I took off the old one..I am not sure if I was suppose to.
was wondering the same thing. having two hitches would be lame, well to me at least. my dad is buying a boat and needs to put a class 3 on his. are the oem class 3 worth a dang?
The two local Ford dealers would rather send the Explorer to a welding company and have them cut out the 1 1/4" section and replace it with a 2" section and add bracing. The cost for this is $275.
There has to be a 2" OEM hitch, but the local dealers don't want to go that route.
That's because they jacked up the price on it. So they chabged the link to it. They now list it by MSRP, so it says $500. It no longer gives the actual price.
