Year, Model & Trim Level
'96 XLT
I had to leave my baby at home (seen here Dead Link Removed ). I didn't have time to replace the fuse box before I needed to leave for school. I went to my grandfather's car lot and he happened to have a '96 XLT V8. Same model year, same trim line, same engine, so I borrowed it.

Same trip:
Mine w/mods : 21.68 mpg
Stock : 16.11 mpg

Cool.

16.8 on the highway? thats not very good.. I get about 20 or so with my v8 and its majarity stock, perhaps the one you borrowed wasn't treated well before your grandfather got it? who knows

at any rate, yer mileage sounds pretty good, especially with the few mods you have listed. How is that chip anyway? i've considered one for a long time, but can't find where its worth it

First question I'll ask is....What are the rear axle ratios between the (2) trucks ??

Secondly, what mods does your truck have done ??

Thirdly, if you changed tire sizes or axle ratios...have you had your speedometer corrected to give accurate readings ??

You'd be surprised at the number of folks that never consider this and get erroneous MPG/MPH readings!!
