I can understand leaking out of the top groove of thermostat housing where it separates from the rest of the housing, but the location where it's leaking is solid piece.
Am I wrong?
Would I need to replace just O-Ring? Or entire thermostat housing?

Looks to me like it is leaking from a manufacturer seam. But it really does not make any difference… it is leaking and it is plastic. Even the OEM plastic thermostat housings were problems. The aftermarket units are super cheap, but very prone to leakage.

Get a metal thermostat housing. They are now available, and priced reasonably well. The metal thermostat housing resolves the problem.

Good luck.
