Streaky Windows

Still no cure...I just make sure not to stop my window and it's fine...so its gotta stay up or go all the way down....for now.
I guess that's the answer for now. All the way down. My build was Feb. 24th and I still get streaks if I only partially lower the window. I've taken to a carrying a paper towel in the vehicle just for this problem.

Streaks

I just got my X, are the streaks on the inside? I am having trouble cleaning these off. Any recommendations for removing the streaks?

Yes, on the inside and they are horizontal not vertical. I use Invisible Glass cleaner from Stoner. Works fine.

I have over 5,000 miles on my explorer, and still have lots of streaks. I am not an OCD type person at all, but these are very noticeable.
I agree that noticeable streaks like this would be something I’d want taken care of as well. If you would like my help with this issue, please PM me with the details I mentioned above.

Nov. build with STREAKS. It's my wifes ride and it is driving her nuts and then she drives me nuts about it. Ford, please help find a cure.
I’d like to reach out to help with your wife’s Explorer as well. It’s important for her to be happy with her ride which includes streak-free windows. Please see my previous post for the information I would need so I can lend a hand.

Thank you for following up on this Cory. My wife drives it, and this is all she talks about. I will PM you my details. The big question is what the dealer can/will do to resolve the issue. I'm also curious if they have figured out the root cause and stopped it in production. The Ex is at 7,800 miles (built in Jan), so I will be heading to the dealer soon for an oil service, and this issue will be on the work order to look at. (also a MFT upgrade from v2.4) But I don't want the dealer to just start ripping off the door panels not knowing what to look for. Ford must know by now what is causing the streaks. It would be great to hear some answers. Thanks
You’re welcome. I received your message and I’m not personally aware of a resolution to the issue right now but I’m forwarding the information to have it reviewed. When your Explorer is with the dealer being diagnosed, they can contact the technical Hotline for assistance with this concern. I appreciate your patience and I will post any available information that I find and continue to work with you on your personal request through private messages.

Just some additional diagnostic info on this. Mine has had no streaks at all on the drivers window and passenger side rear window. The driver's side rear window had streaks on it shortly after we got it, but no more. Now the passengers front window has about 6 streaks on it- and it did not get them before. Something weird, for sure. I think I'll call Click and Clack!

Wow. Your responses are so "Tech Hotline" ish it's rediculous. Drive a Focus? Matching teardrop?

The Ford folks here seem to be genuinely good at customer service. The Tech Hotline folks seem to be poorly trained imitators of the Ford Representatives.

In other words, "Thanks!" to the Ford folks for continuing to help with our problems.

That's not exactly what I was getting at. Just that the writing style looks like what is used by Tech Hotline. As well as the powerless "I'll get back to you" type response. Tech Hotline is more or less hog-tied from making any true decisions. Anything they say or write could wind up in court, so Ford is very guarded on what they allow those folks to do/say/recommend. Many problem fixes actually come from Hotline. Lots of them are 20+ year Ford techs. But the solution has to pass the Ford Filter before it's given out.

I'm not sure why that would have happened either, but I'd like to help if you’d like. From previous messages, I have your Explorer's info so let me know if you would like me to lend a hand with this.

Gus Gorilla, I try to help however I can and I appreciate the kind words RandyH2.

I know what you mean- I often laugh when I have to deal with any call center and get the scripted, "I'm sorry to hear you are having a problem. I'll be happy to help you with your problem...";)

Thanks for the offer, Cory. I'm hoping it is just some contaminate and will spontaneously resolve. Not a big deal to me, just an interesting little hiccup.

It’s unfortunate to hear that your customer service experiences have not been seamless across the board. Please be assured that we are all trained to provide above and beyond customer service. Thank you for your kind comments and much appreciated feedback. With that said, I’m happy to continue helping anyone who is having a concern.

And just to clarify- the other Tech Support experiences was referring to other companies, not Ford.
