My service writer is stating that Ford will not perform the TSB because I have my front windows tinted.

Has anybody had this TSB performed after their windows were already tinted?

One thread is enough for this issue, thanks.

I was posting from my iPhone and posted in the wrong forum. Could you please move it to the general forum for more exposure.

The general forum is where the streaky window issue gets discussed.

Thanks.

That is just rediculous!! Being it is a well known issue.. tint would not have an effect on this whatsoever.

I agree and the dealer is Szott Ford in Holly Michigan.

How do they fix streaky windows?

How do they fix streaky windows?

They replace the inside and outside black dust moldings.. It's what rubs against the window (base of the window). I had mine replace but I have a feeling that some of the grease is actually inside the door and just replacing the moldings may not fix it unless dealer cleans inside the door as well as the glass all at the same time. Mine were exactly the same after replacing the moldings..

Really, yours still has streaks after getting fixed? I don't want to argue the point if the fix is not going to work anyway.

Here is a thread where people claim the fix worked.

Correct, it did not fix it but again I believe it is because the dealer didnt clean inside the doors so the 1st time I rolled them down, the glass got coated and then recoated the seals. That is just my guess but seems the only plausible answer.

Are you going to have them redone?

Are you going to have them redone?

Yes, I actually PM'd cory yesterday about my courtesy wipe and the squeaking brakes because I only have 500 miles till I turn 12k and can't make it in till the 1st week of Nov. So I want to make sure Ford will still honor the 1yr/12k warranty.

There is a bulletin now for "oily film on front side windows"

Mine was fixed and I do have tinted windows. Once I convinced the dealership it was nothing that I cleaned the windows with, they finally ordered all the correct parts, (see other post from me) that fixed it and it's still fixed.

On another thread, it was said that TSB 11-10-9 fixed this problem.
