Street Laws for Tinting and light

I live not far from Buff. I had my front done to match the rear - perfect match and it looks great. Cops around here rarely pull over just for tint. I done give them any other reasons pull me over. I've sat at lights next to them and so far they've never given a second look.

Unfortunately, the State Troopers are more then willing to write ya for something like that, and I'm going to be driving Buffalo-Rochester once a month or so, so I don't want to take a chance with the Troopers on the 90.

In AZ "regular citizens" can run a light tint on their front windows. I think that's great, but what pisses me off is that the "undercover" cop cars run limo tint on all side windows and rear window.

We bought a used Toyota Corolla that had "illegal" limo tint on the front windows. At night, on unlit streets, you couldn't see a thing through that tint. We had that tint removed and replaced with legal tint very quickly.

What I want to know is how a cop can see any better than anyone else through limo tint? Maybe they have super hero vision??

There is an upside to their being able to run the limo tint. A late model car with blacked out windows is a sure give away that there's a cop behind the wheel.

You will get used to it after a while. When I first had my windows limo tinted I couldnt see a darn thing but now its not a problem.

I've seen for myself what limo tint is like in rural, unlit areas. There is no way you can see as far into the darkness through limo tint as you can with lighter tint.

No you definatley cant see as far if its completley pitch black compared to an area where theres street lights and such. Then its kinda wierd bieng able to only see out the windsheild.

I just took a trip down 90 to NYC and back. We counted 13 troopers set up between Roch and the far side of Syracuse. No one even blinked. I don't blame you a bit for being cautious though. I really don't think the the Troopers would be an issue. I think the suburban cops are bigger pricks.

yeah, that's why when i'm not going to do 5% all around. the contrast between that and white paint (eventually) will be to easy to tell

Being well-connected has its advantages. ;)

Quick OT: going to NYC, did you happen turn south at Syracuse, all the way down to Scranton PA, then across NJ? I took that route back in March when I had to drive to JFK airport from here, and it seemed like it wasn't the fastest route, but at 4AM, I'm willing to believe the GPS more then my own navigation.

does GPS have options like "shortest distance" or "quickest route"

i knwo on mapquest the shortest distance isn't always the quickest
