So I recently changed my engine mounts on my Ex and being a genius didn’t do the transmission mount while I was at it and low and behold it needs changed just as badly and is contributing to the vibration/driving issues. I went to change it today and the two studs/bolts that stick down from the mount through the crossmember are both spinning freely with the nuts preventing the nuts from being loosened and removed. I can’t get the mount off because of it. I tried the one stud remover tool I have but it wouldn’t fit well in the tight space there...I attached a picture of what I tried. I thought this may be able to just pull the whole stud and nut out but to no avail. Does anyone have any suggestions about what I should do to get those off? If I can avoid dropping the whole crossmember because I know those 4 bolts are prone to breaking and I don’t feel like dealing with drilling/extracting those as well. Any input is welcome and appreciated. Thanks.

Can't you spin the stud out of the transmission with the nut that's attached to it? If you've opened up a gap try putting downward pressure on the nut with a screwdriver blade as you loosen.

I have taken a jack and a 4X4 and put pressure on the tail housing.
Give them a quick spin them with an impact, alternating each one
keeping pressure on the tail housing.

I thought of this but don’t think I can get a screw driver into. The stud goes up into the transmission mount itself. I was looking at the new one I have as a replacement and it goes into the mount where you can’t access the other end and is supposed to stay stationary. Here is a picture of the mount. Those two studs on top actually are the bottom of the mount and go through the crossmember. They just spin and spin

Try putting pressure on the tail housing like Gary suggested. If that doesn't work, I think you are going to have to cut the studs off with a angle grinder.
