Strobe for factory lights???

I am looking for a control modual that I can wire into the factory wiring harness. I have seen the posts about the streetglows and others. I DO NOT want to drill into my light casing and add more lights. I want the factory bulbs to strobe. Any info at all would be appreciated.

So basically you want them to act as the lights on a Police car work?

Strobe is a type of light. Just like a LED and a halogen does not "strobe" it flashes. Check your state laws before you go and change your directional, tail lights, etc.

This is my Explorer. I put Feniex Cannons into the housings of my tail lights. (I sell these) I did have to drill a hole.

Wow, Eric they do indeed look sweeet! Curious how much a setup in the reverse light like yours would go for? Are the reverse light placed thru the original reverse light opening or a new hole required? Very interesting :)

Thats a quick way to get your vehicle impounded.
This.
You can't legally have flashing lights on the front of a vehicle. You are allowed yellow/orange blinking lights in case of an emergency that strobe on the rear of the vehicle however. At least, in Canada you are.

Same here in Connecticut. My brother is a twenty something veteran with the CSP for reference. Just want them in case of an emergency for rear reverse lights and the kool factor :)

Yea yea they are illegal blah blah. Everything is illegal somehow. I want them so I can escort oversized loads.
I am not wanting the headlights to flash. I do want the fog lights to flash though.

So anyone know ot a module that will do this.

Why not just get a hide-a-way strobe kit? It would be much easier and save you the trouble of rewiring your truck should you fry something.

What is a "hide away" strobe kit??

They are strobes are hidden in your housing. Basically you drill a 1" hole in the back of your housing, put the strobe in there, run the power cables, install the power supply/controller in a dry place and a switch and you are good to go.

I am working on a similar mod, using the $4.99 module, and some bulb sockets that twist into a 1/2" hole in the rear housings. I have amber LEDs so I was going to drill the upper (amber) cell. It's just a goof off project out of stuff I have on hand, to add a low-intensity rear emergency flasher with the capability of continuous use on truck battery power well beyond 48 hours.

I finished my LED strobe retrofit, and as stated above, I drilled into the upper (amber) cell of the tail light housings. I drilled with a 1/2" spade, then used a 6" flat ******* to create the "ears" in the hole. The sockets I used twist in with 1/8 of a turn. I made a harness, tapped into athe 12V constant supply for the head unit, and ran the wiring through the cab to the left grommet, then across the bumper to energize the right hand lamp.

I shorted out my $4.99 flasher doing a bench test, so I ended up replacing it with a $8.00 10 mode flasher. It has it's own switch and pilot lights, and this is very convenient to mount with the supplied mounting tape, right beside the factory flasher switch. This is a really cool flasher, with ten patterns.

I was told to use amber LEDs, but ended up using some white 20 LEDs because they are much brighter, and increased the visibility immensely.

Total cost was about $20.00.

Anyone interested just let me know, I'd be happy to do a write-up.

If you want just the factory bulbs to flash, I believe you're looking for a "Wig Wag Flasher". Run a Google on that. Strobes are entirely different. I have a Whelen Hideaway strobe kit in my headlights.
