I have an Escape project going on. i've completed the rear suspension by replacing the Ford brackets and spacers with Willys brackets and spacers allowing me to install a set of Rancho RS 9000 shocks on. I am thinking of a way to stiffen the fron IFS. Would adding a set of Rancho 5000 or 9000 next to the strut assembly help with taking the " soft car feel" out of the SUV or would it do nothing to improve the stiffness. I'm having a real difficult time understanding the difference between the strut and shock. i think i'm complicating it. My other option to fab up a system that will allow me to install the new Rancho "Quick Lift" front shocks. they look like a coil over with a strut mounting but I have yet to speak with anybody who has tried them on their vehicle yet.
