Stuck in 4x4 New Member

Hi everyone i am new and i have a 97 ford explorer and i wanted to know if anyone has ever had their explorer stuck in fwd as mine is. the thing that puzzles me most is that it hyas been doing this for a while but only got stuck in fwd last week and i have tried evrything to get it out and nothing seems to work and i really miss driving it. So if there is anyone that can help me please help.

I'm not sure what you mean by 'stuck in 4wd'.... the transfer case uses essentially an electric clutch. Cut power to the clutch and the transfer case should unlock. What makes you think it's stuck in 4wd? Is the light on the dash on? Funny handling? Funny noises?
