On wensday I ran my ex through a puddle (turned out to be a damn bottomless pit) screwing around in the woods. Needless to say it cutout midway through the water. It would'nt start back up so I had to climb out the windows (water covered the back bumper!) Anyway here i am a few miles into the woods and it would'nt start up. it took my friend and me in his 2wd f150 almost all day to try and get out of the woods, it was trying but without four wheel drive he just did'nt have the traction. I let it dry out till friday and it still would'nt start. I checked the oil and it looked like chocolate milk! it was more water than oil. Checked the air filter and it was still dripping wet. I was about to pull the plugs to get the water out of the motor thinking that might be why it would'nt start, when i gave it one last try and after turning it over for about 30 seconds it finally kicked to life and shot out about a gallon of mudd from the exhuast! It was fine after that, never even though it could have been that. (by the way did change all the fluids and filter immediately after it started) Just wanted to share my story of how I sucked up all that water and the ex still lived. Still have'nt figured out why it cut out midway through the puddle though. Any ideas

You said you changed all the fluids, make sure you thought of everything: both diffs, tcase, tranny. Change the plugs too.

Hopefully everything is ok in the longrun, glad you got it out and fixed.

Oh, it cut out in the puddle either due to hydrolock or water in the electronics.

Thanks I did'nt even think of that, I have'nt had to do that yet, know somewhere on the site that will tell me how to change them?
