I cannot get the bolt off holding the upper timing gear to the camshaft. I used an impact wrench and it just wouldn't come off. We tried heating it a little bit also. What are my options? Could I drill the bolt, remove the gear and back it out w/ vise grips? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Well Id try a long breaker bar, hit it with a hand sledge to break it loose.
If you are using a cheapie home impact air gun it may not have any power. Also check and make sure the power is turned up on the gun- I went to help a guy who was installing a lift and he was cussing the air gun he got with ihis compressor - turns out that it could be set from 0-4 for power and it was on 1, clicked it up to 4 and everything came off no problems- guy spent two days trying to get things off with his brand new tools!!!!
That bolt shouldnt be that tight- I dont remember it being difficult to remove on mine.

Good Luck

Impact wrench set on full power at 130 PSI air pressure. Torx bit actually broke. The timing slipped on this thing could that have something to do with it? I've done a good bit of mechanic work and I've never seen something that's supposed to be so easy to remove be so stubborn. Air chisel?
