stud extender for COIL spacer

the COIL spacers my buddy got off ebay dont come with stud extenders so hes gonna make his own like he did for my bronco. i need to know what size and thread the stud is so he can make them before he takes apart the truck cause hes on a tight schedule with it. let me know asap so he can run to the hardware store and weld them up. thanx

Sweet! What engine is this spacer getting installed on?
Where in the engine is the spacer going?

hahahaha might kinda be important but I am not sure..

I also vote, remove one of the current studs and take it with you so you can get the right thread, etc for the extended dudes

I mean there are 4 different engines that came in 3 generations of explorers, you can be talking throttle body or intake spacers, and not all of the enignes use studs to hold either the intake or the TB on, so you might try asking a questions relating to a specific spacer and engine if you want an answer.

or are you talking coil spring spacers? confused...

intake spacers, coil spacers, wheel spacers, oh my

or should i just replace the the bolt with a longer one instead of using a stud extender? any one know what size? i just wanna be ready so i dont have to run around gettin stuff cause i dont have time or another vehicle to do so

dude you missed the point, we dont know what kind of spacer you are looking for or for what year vehicle/engine.....

i have a 93 4 door 5spd with a 4.0 i have coil spring spacers that didnt come with a stud extender. i need to know what thread the bolt is and what size cause i need to make the stud extender or to just replace the bolt with a longer one

Okay thanks.
The part you want is from the 4x4 version of your truck, it has a longer stud on the top radius arm retainer allowing you to fit the F-150 spring seat (far superior to urethane coil spacers) If your truck is a 4x4 with the Dana 35 TTB then you should not need anything.

alright fu(k it ill just find out when i tear it apart. and it is a 2wd

You dont get it, this is a double sided bolt, one end goes down to retain the radius arm to the beam, the other side sticks up and the coil retainer and nut are threaded on to retain the coil. The 2wd version is not very tall on teh coil side, but if yo uget the parts from Ford for a 4x4 truck then it will be long enough on the coil side to accept a spacer and still retain the coil.

Ordering the parts from Ford has always been the route I have taken when putting F-150 spring seats (metal Ford spacers built to fit your beams) on a 2wd.

i got 2" spacers. ill just make stud extenders like i have before. do you know what thread it is?

Sorry I do not, I always got the parts from Ford, its big!

let me kno how this goes..i got spacers with no stud ext. either!

The nut is 1-1/8" so I believe the thread is 3/4", and I think it is course thread.

well what the fu(k this is how it went....I got told all you got to do is!!and the out come i bought new coil springs and put my spacers in hahahaha yea right that **** didnt work at all my tires had so much positive camber and there was no way i could align it i took it up to belltire and they laughed at me so i think on this one you guys told me wrong cause what all i had to do is failed horribly thanks

the largest correction cam for a 2wd I believe is 3.75 degrees
A 2" spacer may be too much for your truck and new coils will sag.
the F-150 spring seat gives you about 1-1/2" of coil spacer and should be aline-able on your truck.
It is possible the alignment shop was not aware they can get these 3.75 degree shims?

Did you install new stock length coil springs and then your 2" spacer?

yea i put them both in and they told me it was 6 degrees off

put what both in? new coils and the spacer?

Are they lift coils?

The max lift you can add to a stock height beamed truck is under 2". after thuis you need drop brackets.

they were suposed to be stock they came with the truck

well if your rig had been aligned recently with the current sag..then you jacked her up back to stock hieight..and on top of that threw on the coil spacers..you could have defintaltey thrown it off quite a bit..however i dont see why a tire/aligning shop would not be able to go ahead and to an easy fix on that..thats interesting..o and i guess y ou didnt hav to extend the studs?
