Last night, I was coming back from the store and I noticed I did'nt have any headlight. I am pretty sure that on the way to the store I had light. When I pull the switch, the parking lights come on and thats it. If i turn my brights on, they still work. I have checked the fuses, and the bulbs and they are in good shape. I dont know what to do. I am at my cabin right now so the only book that i have is the haynes, and I cant read the wiring diagrams, i dont know how. I called my dad and he told me to take aligator clips and jump the high beam wires to the low beams until i can get it fixed but I dont know how to do that. Anyways, thanks alot to anyone that can help.

My brother in laws did that, we found that the wire for the headlights had come out of the switch and wasn't making contact. We just reattached and his has been fine.

I had this problem with my 2K Ranger, except it was the high beams that weren't coming on. I checked all the fuses, I checked the bulbs, everything seemed to be okay. I took it to Ford (always my last resort) to find out both of my bulb's high-beam filaments had gone out at the same time! What are the odds??? Very slim that both would go out at the same time. Put new bulbs in, problem fixed! And I had to pay Ford to tell me this because my extended warranty didn't cover it. Oh well, live and learn. Hope this helps.

I had the same problem. Actually I even posted it as a problem in this site. A lot responded and they were right. It was the main switch. It cost me $215 for the switch + labor.:(

I had a similar problem with my 91' Explorer. I would only have headlights and no park lights. It was the switch giving me the problem. It use to burn out the contacts inside the switch because i had the fog lights hooked up to the park lights.
