Will a wrong size belt cause the tensioner to hit the stopper?


In my previous thread i stated the noise came from the alternator,changed it out and today the noise emitted again...looked under the hood once more and the tapping/clicking noise was dead on with the movement of the tensioner...got another on the way just because. this started happening after changing the idler pulley and also the serp belt.
 






The spring on the tensioner might have been bad and replacing the belt just made everything tight and now the spring is bouncing all over the place

Honestly i was thinking the EXACT thing...since the belt is new and not worn like the previous one...it showed itself the next day...it gets real bad when you turn on the headlights,turn the wheel to one side fully,or turn on the ac
