stupid question

i made a mistake screwing my xm box down underneath my driver back seat and i screwed through a wire bundle. there was a lot of sparking and now there are problems. it only blew one fuse, and that was to the power seats, but i replaced that fuse and now that works. now the door locks aren't working correctly. if you press lock it locks and if you press unlock it locks all doors except the driver front door. my third tail light no longer works and my rear window washer fluid doesn't work and my rear defrost doesnt' work. please help.

you are gonna have to take the whole bundle apart and replace all the wires with the same gage wire. Then tape them up good. I did the exact same thing when i was putting a small amp underneith then my abs wouldn't work. Good Luck

i took the bundle apart and taped up the 7 or 8 wires that got threaded. would i still have to completely replace the wire?

I did that in my old CRX, I just cut them and patched them to make sure they had enough wire for the signal to go through... I didn't have any problems after that...

If it really cut the wires up bad and there is are just a few copper strands left, then yes. Too thin of a wire can overheat and catch fire.
There is enough slack in the wires to cut them, untwist them from each other, and solder them back together without having to actually replace any of the wire.

If it just cut the insulation, then taping them will do.

it basically just cut the insulation but the problem is i'm not getting power to a lot of stuff and my door locks are still screwed up. did i fry my harness or something?

It should have blown fuses for all the wires that got cut.

that's what i thought too, but the only fuse that it blew was the fuse for the power seats. i looked at every other fuse to make sure and none were blown.

might check the fuses under the hood. hope you find out what's wrong. hopefully it will be cheap easy fix.

thats where my power seats fuse was, from what i can tell there are no fuses blown anywher in the car. is it possible my harness went out when it happened
