My car is a 2017 Ford Explorer Sport and it only has 29,477 miles on it. I've been noticing this thumping noise coming from underneath the engine since last month. After visiting 3 different shops including a dealership for diagnoses, I changed out the flexplate and torque convertor thinking that they were the issue.

However, the noise is still there, and I am now assuming that it's the engine/motor mounts that is causing the noise. I will attach a video link for you guys to listen to.

The noise only happens when it accelerates especially from 0-10mph. The noise is not there when it is on park or neutral. The car kind of jerks/jumps(?) when I put it on drive from park. It has a similar feel but less when I put it on reverse from park. I hope I can get to bottom of this issue because I enjoy driving my explorer. Please let me know if you had a similar issue like this before and how you went about fixing it. Thank you all.

On 2017 there is only one transmission mount. Check the rubber isn't ripped where it bolts to the transmission. Other possibilities are driveshaft or something with the PTU.

I don't think it's PTU or driveshaft(s) since the noise is occurring while the engine is stationary.
It almost sounds like rod knock to me.

EDIT: you sure the noise is not there above 10mph, or is it just overcome by other noises?

Like he said, that sounds like rod knock to me. My 06 M5 sounded just like that after it had spun a bearing. Maybe you had an early water pump failure and your oil pan is full of coolant, hope not though.

Check this video on You tube from FordTechMakuloco Could be the CV Axle. Does not do it in Park or neutral, so not the engine / rods.

I threw a rod in a 1970 Pontic Lemans 350. The sound was there no matter the gear the trans was in. As long as the engine was running, Rod nock will be heard, if rod broke :(
