Okay guys, i'm tired and cranky. I work WAAAY too many hours.

I'm not throwing a pity party for myself but this is driving me nuts. I have a '98 Eddie X and have the Mach system. Coincidently enough, I blew the good ol' 8" sub tonight (within 4 hours of actually OWNING the car.)

Luckily, I had purchased a Sony Explod 444w amp and 2 300w Audiobahn 10" subs with a ported box from my cousin yesterday at a fair price with the intent of putting it in my Explorer at some point. He threw in the wire too. Well, now that the ol' 8" is blown I guess Fate decided that the 10's need to go in ASAP so I don't lose my mind on my 30 minute drive to work.

That being said, i've been searching the Audio forum for the last hour just looking for a simple way to hook up my subs and amp. There's a lot of helpful info piece by piece, granted, but its not clicking for some reason. I'm using the stock head unit. I'm wondering; can I just splice onto the +/- wires going to the Mach sub and run them to my amp? Can I bypass the subs dedicated amp? Can someone give me a simple solution or at least some helpful advice? I know this isn't what you'd call "urgent" but its frustrating not having time for this crap. Someone... help... please?

Thanks a TON in advance!

Awesome.

Thank you a ton. So now, I need to get a line output converter to hook up from leads that were originally going into my old sub's (r.i.p.) dedicated amp, right?

leads > LOC > aftermarket amp > subs... right?

no, the leads coming out of the stock amp.

where is the stock MACH amp located?

it is mounted to the stock subs enclosure, towards the front of the truck

on the door panels?

It is right above the wheel well on the passengers side, behind the panel.
