hey i finally got my sub installed and i tapped the two wires in the back running out from the sub to a hi-low converter and adjuster, just one ? it is safe to tap those wires cause i was reading about people on here who were talkin bout how it might not be safe to tap those wires

Hmm, im not sure what wires you are talking about. If you are using an aftermarket amp, and a factory HU, you will want to tap into the rear door speakers for your signal.

I think hes talking about the RCAs, when you tap on the ends the go bump, bump on your subs.

well i have the MACH audio system in a '00 model, so i already have a factory sub and amp.... i first tapped the wires behind the headunit that we thought were the outputs but they didnt work, then i removed the rear panel in the trunk on the sub side... and we connected it to the wires running from the factory amp to the factory sub, one is grey the other is black, i get sound when i tapped these wires we ran it through a hi-low adjustable converter that had rca outputs on it... what i was wondering is i was just checking to make sure that this signal from the grey and black wires wont blow my amp because i read they are 8ohm's and my aftermarket system is 4ohms.... so basically will tapping these wires blow out my aftermarket stuff or not, and just making sure that they are safe to tap
