Hey all, new to the forums here... Got a little project that I'm working on for my 2000 XLS. I already removed the factory subwoofer enclosure from a Mountaineer at a local junkyard, ran some speaker wire to it and bolted it into place behind the passenger side rear paneling. All I have to do now is find a subwoofer that fits (not too difficult) but more importantly, find a suitable mounting location for the amplifier and if possible some suggestions for an amplifier itself? I'm not looking to blow the doors off or anything, which is why I went after the factory enclosure rather than a new one or building one myself. I've already replaced all the factory speakers with Alpine Type R speakers and also installed an older Pioneer DEH 6800MP head unit from another truck I had. I don't want the amp to interfere with any of the everyday functions of the truck. I use it very regularly for hauling and carrying things so the seats must be able to fold down (not sure if mounting it under the rear seats is possible even but it was a thought I had). I also considered mounting it under the front drivers seat or passenger seat since I don't have power seats in there but I was worried about it possibly getting kicked or something. Anyways, I'm pretty mechanically inclined and I can fabricate just about anything, metal, fiberglass, plastic, etc.. So if you have an idea that you think is crazy even please let me know. Any help is appreciated thanks much!
