suspension/steering question.

I have a question regarding my 1994 XLT. The steering feels quite loose and the car seems to steer sloppy. When I come to a full stop, sometimes I hear a single "thunk" from the front of the car. Also, at low speeds sometimes I hear a high pitched noise .. something from the brakes I think? I replaced the front pads about 8,000 miles ago.. never had the rear brakes apart.

So whats the deal? What should I check and how can I check it out? Probable causes? Tie rod ends? Brake shoes?

Could Be Steering Sway Bars Pins?? Also Chack out the Ties and Maybe even Ball Joints.. Really Need to Put it Up on a Jack.. Sorry!!

How would I check out any of that? Whats an easy way to tell?

Your Best Bet would Be to take it to a Local Shop.. Maybe Tire Kingdom or ?? There is Usually No Charge to Check out the Front End, if Any can't think it could be to Much..
