I'm sure this has been covered somewhere already so I apologize. Looking to put a plow on my 04 XLT and looking for the best way to beef up the front end suspension to handle the weight of the plow.

Have 0 experience working on cars or trucks, boats are my relm of expertise.

Thanks

I could be wrong on this but I believe the 3rd gen frame is designed to crumple with a significant front end impact. Now that's not quite the same thing as plowing but I'd think the kind of stress that plowing might produce would not be a good thing for a frame that's designed to crumple like that. Maybe someone else has thoughts on this?

Also, to handle the weight I'd think you'd have to put in some seriously stiff front springs to keep the front end from dipping down too much from the weight of the plow.

Just to clarify, I wont be doing any commercial plowing.

All residential and 90% of that will be dragging the snow out in reverse as opposed to pushing it since driveways near me are so small.
