I WAS WONDERING WHAT THE PROS AND CONS ARE TO REMOVING MY FRONT SWAY BAR.
I HAVE ALREADY TAKEN OUT MY REAR SWAY BAR.
AND WAS WONDERING WHAT WILL HAPPEN TO MY X IF I DO NOT HAVE ANY SWAY BARS ON IT.

yeah id leave the front sway bar on... the front doesnt really have enough flex to help when 4wheeling.

Pros-Improved ride quality. I.E. The suspension is truly "independent"
No more rocking back and forth over uneven surfaces
Cons-Increased body roll

I definitely recommend leaving it off when you're offroad. Unless you enjoy rocking back and forth and hitting your head on the glass like crazy.

I took both mine off a year ago and have never looked back since.

both mine are sitting in the backyard...... i didnt notice any major difference except a little more body roll, it was a good thing, it forced me to drive more responsibly...

Im thinking of putting my rear one back one after i almost rolled. I was doing 70 on a highway when an 18 wheeler came into my lane rather quickly so i had to swerve. I swerved into the left lane and as soon as i did that i had to swerve back due to a car coming up on me real fast. A friend of mine was in front of me and he said he could see the side of my truck. My rear end was easly 4-5 to one side each time i fishtailed. Im sure if i had my sway bar on there would have been alot less sway.

If you have adjustable shocks you can remove your front one and try to compensate by dailing up the shocks. However, this isn't as good as having the bar. On your '98, your front bar is solid and huge; it does a lot on-road. I'd leave it on. I had mine off last weekend driving on the highway for a few minutes before an offroad run. It felt like all my springs and shocks had gone to crap. Others on the run with me could tell you the amount of sway I had on the highway before and after was very noticable from other vehicles.

It only takes 5 minutes to disconnect the front bar anyway. All you need is a ratchet with the right socket for the bolt and a pair of vise-grips to hold the nut. If you haven't already, flip the bolts over so they slide out the bottom; this will make it much easier to remove them.
