Hi everyone,

First time here...what a great site.

Was just on the warrior products online catalog looking for shackles and saw swaybar disconnects for late model explorers.

Anyone have any experience with these?

Thanks

Ive been looking

I've made a few posts referring to this subject but to no avail. The only info I was able to get was on how to make one at home. Do you have any part #'s or other info. I'd love to find some for the front and rear.

Lates

no body makes them for us.... jeep ones are easily adaptable... also making them out of carraige bolts also seem pretty easy...

What do you use Jim?

Jim what do you have on your sways, if you still have them at all. If you have part #'s for the j@@p's that would be great. What do you have to do to adapt the j$$p disconnects to the X?

Thanks,

Dekester

swaybar

On the warrior products website - (www.warriorproducts.com) there is a side menu that has an "explorer accessories" section. In that section sway bar disconnects are listed for early and late model explorers. For late model explorers the part numbers are:

WAR85212 for the rear

WAR85203 for the front

:O :O

Well all be. :) May need to take a trip down to 4wp in the morn. :) Good Find. I'll keep you posted on what I find out.

sway bar

Great.

I put an email inquiry into Warrior Products to see if they would fit onto my Sport, and the price/availaibilty at the dealers.

Keep you posted.

I'll make sure I tell you what I find out. Id guess that they're the same as the J##p ones... just cut to fit.

-K- someone fiss up!! Whats the word on the disconnects? I would like to put mine back on, but love the gained wheel travel. Come on someone speak, stop holding out on us!

Who's got them????????

Somebody out there has have these! I agree some needs to fess up out there. I'm gonna make some calls and try and get some more info.

Here's what I found out:

A 4x4 wheel parts store near me (4 Wheel Parts Performane center - Van Nuys, CA (818-988-2754) has them on order from Warrior Products. The guy at Warrior I spoke with said they came out with the disconnects about a month ago and few dealers would have gotten them yet or would even know about them yet. I called the 4x4 shop who was waiting for the parts to come in - maybe a few weeks- or he could order them for me. He said expect to pay between $94 and $97 each for the front and back.

Also, the guy at Warrior Products said they tested the product on the 4 door model explorers not the Sport. I don't see why Ford would put different sway bar parts on the two trucks but we'll see.

Can't wait.

thanks

Thanks for the info jobunn. Keep us posted.

OH i forgot! Welcome to the site Jobunn!
$97 doesnt sound too bad. You should be able to get these from 4WP website. Might email them and see if they can email and ship them to me. And dont worry the sway bar links are the same from 4 door to 2 door.

Great.

Let me know.

Just got back. :) Just got back from 4wp(messed up my ujoints or berings on the way) and got the info. They are still new and they've yet to have the info realiced to the dealers. If you want them... make the dealer call!! Four wheel parts had no idea that they made them but called right away. I ordered a pair. Here's the info...

Front.....
$92.86 in Stock

Rear
$ 92.61 in Stock

Both will work with stock trucks or lifted. From what I can tell they are just like the ones for the J##P where you will simply replace the Sway-bar. To undo them you'll pull a pin and the center part will come out. :) I got them for the front and back, so I'll let you know when they get here.

GREAT FIND JOBUNN

Awesome!

Give us word on how they work when you get them installed. I won't be able to get mine till next paycheck...

Let me ask this question,
When you disconnect your Sway Bar, what do you do with it then? do you take it completly off(unbolt it) or do you tie it down in place with a bungee cord?

When I remove the front swaybar links on my '97, I just leave the swaybar where it is. It is tight enough that it doesn't move and never has moved on any of my off-road trips. If yours is loose in the bushings, it should probably be tied up with bungee cords or something.

Thanks Robert,
If your is tight, then mine should be tight too, seeing as to both or X's are 97 Sports
