Sync and iOS 6

This morning I had my bride send a "test" text and I did not receive the first one. She sent another a minute later and I got that one. Not sure why. Received ESPN Sportscenter updates I received via text the first day. Did not receive any of those last night while we cruised around in Storm, even though they showed up on my phone.

OK so back to the topic......we need some of the IT guys on this forum to explain to the rest of us how we can now have text messaging working but no phone contacts and no replying through MFT.

The MAP protocol in Bluetooth, does it have various feature levels?

Given that the iPhone has never had Bluetooth MAP support I'm guessing MFT is not setup to use it when iPhone is connected therefor the reason we can't reply through MFT

I notice with Bluetooth audio streaming you get album art so why no phone book pictures?

MAP stands for Message Access Profile. The Bluetooth MAP was specifically designed to be able to exchange messages between two different devices. I believe it was designed for hands free use in vehicles. If users of the iOS6 beta are having issues with messages not sending, trying to reply to messages, etc, I believe that is a Ford Sync issue or an issue with iOS6, not MAP. MAP basically allows the communication between your phone and Ford Sync for messages, but beyond that, it's a software issue.

Good idea. I just wasn't sure if everyone understood what Bluetooth MAP is.

I plan on adding some more wallpapers on my site this weekend. Any ideas of what to add? I'm constantly browsing wallpaper sites to see what would look good as a MFT wallpaper. On a side note, do you work at a Ford dealership?

Somehow I missed your post. That's very cool. I hear that's a nice stadium there in Denver. Going to football games is so much fun. I try to make it to all the home Chargers games. It's going to be interesting to see how Manning does in Denver.

Update on text throughMAP on iOS6 Beta2

My GSM iPhone4 continued all text to speech MFT functionality as I drove south through Wash State and Oregon. But when I got to California and AZ it stopped. In AZ on AT&T the functionality is no longer active.

You're getting album art over Bluetooth? I'm seeing the song metadata, but no album art. I'm using an iPhone 4S running iOS 6 beta 2.

Unfortunately by doing so in a public forum you are violating your NDA with Apple (assuming you are a registered developer, and that is how you obtained the beta, and if you are not then you are using pirated software).

Legal developer and not worried. Working with Ford and Apple to make it work. Not my first go around with Beta programs. Oh, no.... There are the cops now.....



For those wondering, once Apple notified the public that iOS6 would have MAP bluetooth technology on it, we are fine talking about it in public forums. I read all 37 pages of the agreement and the biggest thing they are worried about is developers pirating the software to others. We are free to talk....
