Since Ive owned this Explorer, it would have a chirp or squeak sound while driving. It sounds like its outside the vehicle.
Well recently I found it was the AC compressor. I can turn off the AC for a few seconds, then turn it back on and it will "Chirp" every time.

So this morning I driving my daughter to daycare, and at a red light there is a mountaineer next to me... Our chirps were almost exactly synchronized.

Anyway this bugs me... Will some lubricant solve this? I don't want to spray WD40 on the compressor if it will mess up the AC clutch mechanism.
Any other ideas?

I don't know about chirping, but mine makes it seem like I'm driving a diesel.

Its probably the compressor's bearing/clutch. Replace the compressor, recharge the system and you should be good to go.

WD-40 will help make it go away maybe for a minute or so but you will still need to replace the bearing.
