ok...heres the deal:

Im buying all new speakers, subs, and headunit.

Would it be easier to completely rewire the system, or attempt to use some of the factory wiring.

Can sombody please point me to where i can find a wiring diagram!!

You'll be fine with factory wiring. Good quality wires can be pretty expensive and it'd be a pain in the ass to re-wire everything for sure.

Good luck :D

Re wire it all. Use a good quality wire, and that way it'll keep distortion to a minimum, there will be enough wire to carry the power, and you'll know where everything is going, and to what. Plus, I think the stock wiring sucks.

just make sure you bypass the factory amp. the factory amp will hurt the sound quality and performance of your system.

thanks for the conflicting viewpoints!! lol, jk

i think ill probably just rewire everything so i know exactly where everything is. But...im really new to the system scene, can you all please tell me some about types of wiring and sizes etc...

thanks

Rewiring is not necessary unless you are gonna run a bunch of power to the speakers.

yeah if you are just running headunit power or an amp that puts out less than 80 watts to each speaker then the factory wiring will work without a problem.

If you are going to rewire everything...go ahead and use 10 guage wire...that will make sure you can get enough power to everything...:) Just kidding.

If you want some advice, buy at least one of your parts (set of speakers, sub, amp, headunit, etc...) from www.crutchfield.com. They will send you a complete diagram of how to install all of those parts in your car. It will save you some money from having someone else install it and some time from trying to figure it all out yourself. If you buy your headunit from them like me, they will send you everything you need to bypass the factory amp.

I was really happy with them, and they answered all my questions on the phone when I had questions...and I had a lot of them.
