Mach system questions.

I'm new to this ford thing having prefered jeeps and have found many things that I like. Many unpleasent surprises as well, esp the MACH sound system.

I have been told that to put in an aftermarket system (to control an i-pod) that I need to completely rewire the system as nothing hooks up to the factory amp and therefor nothing will work. Is this true, or has someone out there actually preformed such an install with an outdated MACH system?

I use an fm transmitter with the mach system.

I have the Mach system in my 99 EB and just put an aftermarket deck in it 2 weeks ago. I ordered through Crutchfield and they included an adapter that allowed me to use the whole system. It sounds amazing hooked up to a stereo that allows me to customize the low/mid/hi's.

Read your line and I thank you I was told it was a complete wireing job, new amps etc.
