Tail light removal

How do you get the tail light out? My striker now is loose and I need to get in there to tighten it. I got the two screws out but am unsure which way to pull.. Course my manuals won't be here till next week.

pull straight back towards the rear of the vehicle. there are two clips that pop into place on the outer edge of the light.

Ditto.. and it will make some awful creaking noises.. that is normal

...If you are trying to tighten the striker post for the rear hatch, you don't need to remove the tail light at all...

I'll try tightening it without removing then. Good idear. Any help on my shifter handle removal thread?
