Breaks my heart. :(

thats the exact explorer ive wanted for the past 3 years... i honestly dont know if i can watch this video.

yea its hard to watch... but just look at the silver lining of how long it lasted till the very end. id like to see some jeep cherokee or toyota 4runner go like that X did

Sodium silicate doesnt precipitate until like 210 degrees F. So not knowing how long the engine has been running for (its oil temp), I'd say that since the engine was started at around 0:30 and died around 3:25, it probably succumbed just as easily as any other engine.

Gas engine design has not changed very much for a long time (other than having more valves, cam position, etc..). The 5.0L is nothing out of the ordinary. Its not like thicker walls between the cylinders of a specific engine is going to help prevent the engine from dying once sodium silicate is poured in.

check the explanation in the vid. it was run for 10 minutes without oil before they added the engine killer

10minutes w/no oil..... then another 3 w/ engine killer

But I think running the engine w/o oil is kind of irrelevant to C4C - people do it all the time for fun and curiosity to a variety of engines. My point is, the 5.0L will seize to sodium silicate just like most engines would once operating temps have been reached.

Man. So sad. A white limited 5.0 is my most liked expo ever. What a sick thing this is. :(

When they close the hood, it was like closing a white casket. The rest of the video was like watching someone torture a dog to death.
People are stupid.

People aren't stupid, this government program was stupid... and it has only just begun...Thanks Obama:mad: And this same administration wants to run our heath care too....Lord help us.

What's sodium silicate do to the circulatory system?:eek:

I heard a rumor that you can access political sites on the internet. Maybe you want to try one.

not meant to be political just to show the strength of the engine lol

Cheesy

My post was certainly not directed at the thread, having a 5.0 myself, I appreciate the info. It was directed at an earlier post.

While it was stunning to see the vehicle in the video, we don't really know what condition it was in overall. It may have had 240,000 on the odo and an interior more like a '61 Comet. One thing I've noticed is the 2nd gens seem to photograph really well even in the worst of shape.

Todd

Sorry man. Haven't had this car all that long. No reason for me to have, say, 7,000 posts.
