temp guage

my temp guage only seems to work 70% of the time. When working it seems to work fine. What could this be? sensor or connection probably?

I have the same problem with my 92. I replaced the sending unit but it didn't cure the problem. I did notice that when it was showing a very low temp that I could move the connector on the sending unit ant it would jump up. I do believe it is the angled wire connector that attaches to the sending unit that is the proble. I will try to find a differant wire end and replace it. If that don't work don't know what to do next. Let me know if you find a differant answer to the problem
