The tensioner broke off on my '96 XLT. How hard is it to replace myself? Do I need any special tools? What is the best way to get to it? The bolt is still in place, but the pulley has broken off. Is there a proceduere I need to follow to avoid problems installing the new pulley? Thanks.

Its easy

Just pull the bolt out of the old one and replace it with a new one. You'll have to go to NAPA or the dealer (NAPA will be cheaper, about 40 -45$) and getr a new one. Most auto parst dealers won't have one. But it is really easy to replace. It should take about 30 -45 min to do.
