The 4.0 Swap was chump change compared to this - Look inside...

im pretty pleased about the interior, ill be happier when the roof is gone though. the wheelspacers allow me to turn lock to lock without hitting the lower control arms, which is admittedly something I hadn't thought of when designing the suspension.

funny story on that magazine I lost that a loooooong time ago and could never find it, until I pulled the driver side interior panel out, there it sat with 3 rounds in it, don't ask I have no idea. Ive since sold the gun, actually to heath one of the mods on here, its a ruger mark 1 in 22cal. I think im going to pick another one of those up, thats a fun little pistol. yeah dad was not pleased about the hunting but more bk he couldn't hunt, he had back probs that are ending in surgery so its hard for him to even move around, he isn't so sprightly anymore and he is only 48. we had a bunch of friends come out and get some deer, one guy got my buck opening day, little 4pt. I only went out there once so I didn't even get one this year.

Whats the clip for, Ruger? Caliber 9mm or 22?

Thats my CLIP!!!

Thats my CLIP!!!

I hope your happy on that trade. Are you Frank or Jessie :p:

But I've got to ask, did you give him a kiss also for trading your dana 30 for that fine gun? I mean, come on, a lowly d30. Notice I did not even capitalize the d. Could have been worse I suppose, could have traded him a TTB, I mean ttb for the gun.

I quess he could use it for a boat anchor when he gets a real axle in there?

James..That had to be the steal of the century

Who's James? Maybe I should ask Jon who all these boyfriends are... Wonder if his wife knows about them?

Now it's becoming perfectly clear why he's painting his truck white. Could a rainbow decal come next?

yeah Heath why don't you tell the guys about your new hobby now that youve sold your rig... something about a pink binder full of coupons. Heaths wife knows im not gay and thats all im worried about haha.

yeah Heath got the better end of that deal, I payed 200 for that pistol when I bought it and I wouldn't value that axle at more than 150 but oh well, I can't get awesome deals all the time, it does have the 297 ujoints though. my brother told me the white paint makes it look like an ice cream truck, guess thats going to be the consensus. im not to worried though, if I do get a rainbow sticker for it I can probably grab one of heaths, got an extra buddy?

ran up to the hills yesterday for a little snow wheeling, it was a blast, my brother took his f150. the bII did well except for those bald 33's i have on there, and I had an issue with it bogging out on me once or twice when I was trying to climb a hill. Made it back out though, and I guess thats what counts. so I guess i need to check all of my electrical connections and figure out where that bogging is coming from. I also need to get some gauges in there, it was pretty cold but I was concerned it might be getting a little bit hot. anyway here are some pictures,

also mounted up one of the baja claws on a stock explorer rim, just wanted to see if a 35" would clear the lower links, it does so ill probaly just buy 2 more baja claws and run 35s this season. those 33's are flat shot as I found out wheelin in the snow yesterday.

I got an obd1 scanner last night and pulled the codes on the bII. the only one It came up with stored or with the rig running is that its running lean, not sure how its possible for it to be running lean but ill search around about it. I think my bogging out problem was caused by the lift pump in the tank, im going to change it out, rockauto has the lift pump for 30 bucks. Ill just cut a hole in the floor and pull it out that way.

As you know without a good set of tires all the work in the world to your truck including best parts money can buy is all in vain.

Great pics BTW, Speaking of BTW, what is an obd1 scanner, something that goes to a Star Wars game?

That's the trouble with this new generation of yongsters, why not pull plugs and check to see if it's running lean or rich or just right?

I plugged it in and it told me hey Jon, im running rich, no plug pulling required haha. and my rig will run upside down, not just to 65deg or whatever that holley will pull.

the tire thing is really a problem to succesful wheeling, my buddy Eric has a bead on a set of 35x13.50 bfg Krawlers on allied beadlocks one of his buddies is thinking of selling, I told him to get me a good deal on those wheels and tires and he can have my baja claws for facilitating. they are the the blue label tires not the sticky red labels but im a beggar not a chooser. it prob a dream anyway I can't imagine that the dude wants to part with them for my price range anyway, even if Eric buys them I might still try to get the wheels, they are the 5 on 4.5 my rig is and he would have no use for them anyway.

so after not very much searching it appears I have a either a vacum leak or my MAF is dirty. the common location is the upper intake gasket or the egr gasket. Ill clean the maf and inspect the gaskets to determine if they need replaced and report back. also changed my profile pic, getting a little sick of gumby, guess I better call Saul haha

got a little crazy removing some stuff today, figure if its this easy to take apart I may as well change the gaskets out, 23 bucks later I have the plenum gaskets, injector orings and egr gasket, ill put everything together tomorrow after I inspect all the vacum lines.

while replacing the gaskets I found a vacum line that wasn't hooked up, im sure that was the culprit behind the problems im having but now I know that the gaskets are good also. Im waiting on Heath to show up and finish putting it together, I like to make him feel manly by allowing him to hand me tools, haha jk buddy its all in good fun.

on a seperate note I ordered a summitracing street-strip muffler that should be here wednesday, my current muffler is hitting the driveshaft on the rear. my plan is to move the muffler to the space being occupied by the rear cat and then dump the exhaust in front of the axle. it will be 2.25 exhaust tube that I have laying around from when I put the 351 in my brothers red truck and dual piped it out. should sound pretty good ive always liked the summitracing mufflers, I had 2 of the turbo version on that red ford.

Nah i pulled back in the garage to put a middle seatbelt in the back. Thanks for the help though, i wonder if it even touched that nasty varnish in the intake. Im going to go wheel it tomorrow in the fresh snow thats falling, good times.

i wonder if it even touched that nasty varnish in the intake.

IMO, I think I can answer that question, but first we need to find out the definition of the word "Wonder".

Definition: Wonder (verb)
When one sticks his finger up his butt and it don't smell,
it's a wonder.

So with that said, no need to wonder about it , you know it did not, just pull it off and clean it.
I performed several tests on carboned up items that would have been hard to see under normal conditions using different cleaning solvents including SF. Even to the point of blowing air past the treated areas including heating the part up as in the runners of a manifold might see. Did this to the electrodes on spark plugs also. No rubbing of parts after the solovents were applied. Do it for yourself and sea how it does?

If you do in fact pull it, can you post pics of the intake of the areas in question?

It's like the Scrubbing Bubbles bathroom cleaner add, just spray it on, walk away while singing Shambhala and it's squeaky clean and sparkling when you come back, ya right. But I hope you do get it all running fine.
I have complete confidence in you.
